Abstract:	Na podlagi sistematične analize izsledkov iskanja virov ter doslej opravljenih raziskav skuša pričujoče diplomsko delo predstaviti jazzovske glasbene zvrsti in oblike. Metodološko je diplomsko delo zasnovano na načelu iskanja arhivskih virov o zgodovini in razvoju jazza ter primerjave arhivskih virov in doslej opravljenih raziskav o jazzovskih glasbenih zvrsteh in oblikah, ki so se v jazzu skozi zgodovino razvijale. V osrednjem delu diplomskega dela nam avtor predstavi vse zvrsti in oblike jazza in analizo določenih osmih skladb, ki so bile izvedene na samem diplomskem koncertu. Vsako delo bo posamezno okvirno analizirano harmonsko in ritmično. Predstavljen je potek analize jazzovskih skladb, obrazložene pa bodo tudi lestvice ali modusi, ki se v jazzu uporabljajo. V sklepu avtor povzame obravnavano snov in predstavi svoje poglede in čustva ob študiju glasbenih del različnih zvrsti in oblik v jazzu. Zagovor diplomskega dela vsebuje tudi izvedbo osmih skladb, ki izvirajo iz različnih jazzovskih zvrsti in oblik ter so tako ali drugače prepoznavne po svoji edinstvenosti. Zagovor in izvedba diplomskega koncerta s projektnim jazz ansamblom je potekala v petek, 26. 10. 2012, v kulturni dvorani občine Gorišnica. Gre torej za teoretično in praktično diplomsko delo.

Title:	MUSIC TYPES AND FORMS OF JAZZ
Abstract:	On the basis of a systematic analysis of the source search results and past research studies the following thesis introduces the music genres and forms in jazz. The thesis is methodologically formulated on the principle of archival material search on the history and development of jazz and of the archival material comparison and the past research studies on music genres and forms in jazz, which developed in jazz throughout the history. In the central part of the thesis the author presents all genres and forms in jazz and the analysis of eight specific compositions, which were performed at the diploma concert. Each composition will be roughly analysed separately, harmonically and rhythmically. The analysis process of the jazz compositions is also introduced and the scales or modes used in jazz are explained. In the conclusion, the author sums up the subject matter and presents his own perspective and feelings on studying music compositions of different genres and forms in jazz. The oral exam includes also the performance of the eight compositions, derived from the various genres and forms in jazz and distinguished because of their individuality. The oral exam and performance of the diploma concert with the project jazz band was performed on Friday the 26th of October 2012 in the cultural hall of the community Gorišnica. The thesis therefore consists of a theoretical and a practical part.
