Abstract:Slovensko ozemlje so si med letoma 1941 in 1945 razdelili nemški, italijanski in madžarski okupatorji. Ker so želeli Ljubljansko pokrajino, kakor so zasedeno območje poimenovali, čim hitreje poitalijančiti, so jo 3. maja 1941 s posebnim odlokom priključili Italiji.
Keywords:2. svetovna vojna, italijanska okupacija, Ljubljanska pokrajina, aneksija, raznarodovanje, nasilje.

Title:THE ITALIAN OCCUPATION IN SLOVENIA (1941–1943) IN THE LIGHT OF THE JUTRO AND SLOVENEC NEWSPAPERS
Abstract:Between 1941 and 1945 Slovenian territory was divided among German, Italian and Hungarian occupiers. Their goal was the same: they wanted to annex Slovenian territory administratively, politically and economicaly to their own country as soon as possible. There is a lot of evidence that German, Italian and Hungarian occupiers had the same goal, to destroy Slovene’s nationality. However, treatment and life circumstances were different in each of the three zones. Starting point for this diploma paper is treatment of Italian occupier in Slovenian territory. Because they wanted to Italianize the so called Province of Ljubljana, they annexed it with a special decree on May 3, 1941. Life circumstances in Province of Ljubljana are described in this diploma paper on the basis of newspaper report. The focus is not just on description of political circumstances, but also on everyday matters that changed people’s lives during the Italian occupation.
Keywords:World War II, Italian occupation, Province of Ljubljana, annexation, denationalization, violence.
