Izpostavile so določena ravnanja, vrline, držo.

Title:The Theme of Fear in the Folk Tale
Abstract:In the thesis titled The Theme of Fear in the Folk Tale the chosen fairytales from different places around the world were analized in order to ascertain how fear was treated. The fairytales came from different collections, which were published in Slovene teritorry in years from 1962 to 2011. The Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Persian, Russian, Slovene and other folk fairytales were chosen. The fairytales’ messages, which were connected to overcoming fears were presented. The circumstances of fear phenomenon were researched and also its causes, character’s motivations, ways of dealing with fear and the function of fear in the chosen fairytales. To define the concept and to get acquainted with different theories there were different areas observed, especially folklorist knowledge, psychology, etnology, children’s literature and literary theory. We also presented the development of feelings, fear phenomenon and understanding of fear as well as the concept of self-esteem. The thesis is especially theoretical. The research methods used in this thesis are the following: descriptive, comparative, historical, analytical and also the method of synthesis and classification. We discovered that fears in fairytales were externalised and personalised. The symbolism of monsters shows different projections of fears. When describing fear with the help of words there are many idioms used in fairytales. The fear of charatcters usually appeared as a consequence of defence, and often it was caused by bullying. It may have been connected to low self-esteem. What influenced the level of self-esteem of characters were the environment with high expectations, bullying, defining characters by their looks, and by neglecting the characters. Through fairytales the reader was offered a model. It highlighted certain actions, virtues and attitude. They affected the reader in a way to become aware of the absurdity of fear. The character could remain affraid throughout the whole fairytale, but when he faced hiw own path, he was given a personal motive. The character decided to realize his/her own wish and started acting in his way. He/she looked at fear from a different perspecitve. The fairytale characters changed through experiences and replaced their lack through intellect, ingenuity, cunningness etc. They had different kinds of help, such as assistants, magic tools and advice.
