Title:The administrative legal aspects residence of foreigners in the Republic of Slovenia
Abstract:This thesis, titled “The administrative legal aspects residence of foreigners in the Republic of Slovenia”, deals with the legal residence of foreigners in Slovenia, a European Union member state, based on issued living permits. The Aliens Act consists of certain directives, resolutions and decrees of the European Union, which Slovenia had to include in its legislation upon becoming a member of the European Union. The emphasis is on the contents of the act, which focuses on foreigners from third world countries or citizens from the former Yugoslavia countries, who are still widely present in Slovenia. For better demonstration of the actual situation, this thesis, besides some examples of practice, includes an interview with a foreigner, a citizen of Bosnia who had come to Slovenia searching for better life and to make a worthy existence for his family, especially better education for his children. On the other hand, a representative of a Slovenian company which deals with ferrying goods via road traffic gives us his experience in employing foreigners. According to the information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (as well as according to the information of the Velenje Administrative Office within that), the number of issued living permits is going down, namely because of economic crisis and therefore lessening of the number of issued living permits, which is clear from the yearly reports of the Employment Office of the Republic of Slovenia.
