Abstract:Na področju digitalno forenzične znanosti se soočamo z novimi tehnološkimi izzivi, kjer je svet vedno bolj odvisen od digitalnih virov informacij, računalniških sistemov in omrežnega shranjevanja podatkov.

Abstract:With the progress of technology the world is becoming increasingly dependent on digital sources of information, computer systems and internet data recording, which presents a technological challenge also in the science of digital forensic. Digital forensic specialises in determining the actions performed in all digital systems, not only computers but all digital appliances including digital communication (GSM), digital photography, etc. Parallel to the development of technology is the development of tools in the science of digital forensic. Discussions on reliability of digital proofs are necessary alongside with the search and reconstruction of hidden data and internet forensic. Digital forensic is used for civil and military purposes, law enforcement and in situations where forensic techniques are required in finding evidence based on digital records. The purpose of this thesis is to present one of the many possible ways of testing the authenticity of a digital photograph and identifying the digital source which it was made with. The research shows that using only one method in verifying the authenticity of a photograph is unreliable and could be avoided by testing more factors, such as defects on the lens, defects on the sensor, the degree of data compression and many more. The progress of digital photography is taking place on a daily basis and so are the techniques of forgery, which means that the techniques of forensic have to develop at the same pace.
