Abstract:With the advent of modern society we extended the boundaries of the possible, and thereby increased our dependence on the transport links and the associated risks. Unfamiliarity with the road traffic regulations, ineffective teaching and increasing involvement of technology in the human environment represent just some of the factors that led to the degradation of the general road culture in Slovenia. Despite targeted campaigns, stricter regulations and higher penalties, the results are not evident in practice, since almost every year the number of accidents caused by ignorance or insufficient knowledge about the road behavior increases. According to statistics, there are less and less road victims yearly, however unfortunately that' is not an indicator of improved road safety and culture. Looking at statistics alone, caused traffic accidents and police penalties reveals, that the road culture in Slovenia went from bad to worse.
