Title:INFLUENCE OF KNOWLEDGE STRUCTURE ON KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Abstract:Nowadays, companies are primarily interested on how to stay in the market, how to be more competitive, more efficient and more attractive to buyers. We believe that the key factor for success in achieving all these goals are the employees of an organization. Employees with their knowledge can have the greatest contribution in providing competitive advantage. The purpose of this thesis was to demonstrate how employee knowledge affects their job performance. We wanted to show the way by which it is possible to determine the structure of knowledge that an organization wishes for employees to have and to compare it with their actual knowledge. With the help of fuzzy logic the comparison between the two was made in order to get a derogation. This was followed by further statistical analysis between variations in the values of knowledge and work performance achieved by employees. We were unable to prove our initial hypothesis that better knowledge alignment between the actual knowledge structure of employees and required knowledge structure also means achieving better work performance results. In only half of the cases analyzed, we detected that if the employee knowledge structure is better than the required knowledge structure, than the employees are more successful. In these cases we were also able to then define the knowledge that is necessary for the proper implementation of activities, which in turn means a better result. Although the hypothesis was not confirmed, we proved that organizations, with the appropriate definition of necessary knowledge and by using fuzzy logic tools, can identify the difference between the required and actual knowledge of employees. Based on the results organizations can then implement certain measures, such as. further education. Also, you can use these methods to localize the knowledge that is needed for the implementation of specific activities that are important for achieving success.
