Abstract:	Razvoj hranilništva se je pričel že v prvi svetovni vojni, ko so se na trgu prve pojavile regulativne hranilnice. Osnovna naloga teh hranilnic je bila, da so ljudi navajali na varčevanje in z denarjem, ki so ga privarčevale, nudile posojila po nizki obrestni meri. Že takrat so hranilnice ponujale veliko storitev, katere so z leti nadgrajevale in danes postale zelo konkurenčne bankam. Varčevanje je že takrat imelo veliko vlogo na prebivalstvo, in tako je tudi danes. Hranilnice nam zagotavljajo možnost varnega varčevanja, prav tako pa nam omogočajo, da si sami izberemo primerno obliko, glede na to, koliko smo pripravljeni privarčevati. Ljudje se v zadnjih letih vedno bolj odločamo za varčevanje in ta najbolj tradicionalna oblika varčevanja je varčevanje na bankah. Zakaj ljudje varčujemo, je vprašanje, ki vsako leto ponuja vedno več odgovorov.

Title:	DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATION OF SAVING BANKS IN SLOVENIA
Abstract:	Development of savings bank began in the first World War, where they first appeared on the market regulatory savings bank. The primary task of these savings bank was that the people quoted on savings and with the money saved by the will offer loans at low interest rates. Even then, the savings offered a lot of services which are upgraded over the years and today has become a very competitive banks. Saving is already at that time had a large role in the population, and so it is today. Savings bank provide us with the possibility of safe savings, but also allow us to self-select the appropriate form, depending on how much we are willing to save. People in recent years, more and more are deciding to save and the more traditional forms of saving, the saving in banks. Why do people save is the question which every year offers an increasing number of responses.
