Abstract:
Magistrsko delo obravnava tematiko vrnitve pokopališča v center Maribora. Vsa večja mesta so v preteklosti imela pokopališča v mestnih središčih.

Title:
PLACES OF FAREWELL AND REMINISCENCE
Abstract:
The master’s thesis examines the possibilities to return cemetery in the city centre of Maribor. In the past, all bigger cities had cemeteries in city centres. They reflected culture and history of the place and were an essential part of a town or city structure. In the 18th century, cemetery services moved to suburbs. Lately, the trend has shifted. In bigger European cities the places for farewell and reminiscence are returning to city centres. Urn funeral with rational use of space enables inclusion of cemeteries in the daily life of a city again. The master's thesis deals with this topic in case of the city of Maribor.
