Title:WIRELESS NETWORKS SECURITY (STANDARD IEEE 802.11)
Abstract:This diploma work focuses on the problem of protection of wireless networks that are based on standard IEEE 802.11. You will find the description of IEEE association including their standard specification with number 802. Furthermore there is description of standards, protocols and technics that are used to guard and protect wireless networks based on this specification. The current status of wireless network security on the area of city Ptuj is presented. Diploma work also includes description of various approaches to abuse wireless network and its security, including software and hardware that attacker needs to perform an attack. It is also shown how the password cracking looks like in practice and in what way can we protect ourselves against such attacks.
