Vstop v zvezo zahteva doseganje najvišjih standardov storitev, varnosti in tehnične infrastrukture v letalski industriji.

Title:GLOBAL STRATEGIC ALLIANCES IN AIR TRANSPORT
Abstract:Radical changes in US air transport began with the passing of the Airline Deregulation Act. The Act enabled easier entry into air transport markets, free pricing and companies making their own decisions about the routes used (i.e., setting new routes or their termination). In the European Union, liberalization of the air transport in three stages took place, with three packages of guidelines. The first package (1988) established a mechanism for progressive liberalization, while inducing greater flexibility in pricing. The second package introduced relatively liberal certification of tariffs (double disapproval), a wider range of the fifth air freedom and a more liberal choice of routes. The third package (1993) enabled free airline competition in the European single market. Deregulation and liberalization of air transport have influenced the formation and development of airline alliances. One of the main alliance-related advantages, from the carrier’s perspective, is in connecting routes to one big network; the main effect is in providing the best service for customers. In the airline market, three global alliances were formed (i.e., Star, SkyTeam and Oneworld). Star Alliance, founded in 1997, is the first and largest global airline association. In order to become members, all airlines must comply with the highest customer service standards, security and technical infrastructure. The Alliance has 28 member airlines, connecting 1,328 airports in 195 countries and annually carrying more than 727 million passengers (Star Alliance, 2013). The main goal of the Star Alliance is to provide smooth and carefree travel experience for passengers. The entire air market of the Alliance and frequent flyer mileage programs of its airlines with high-quality services create compelling customer offers, which, on a global scale cannot be achieved by any of its competitors. Star Alliance believes that this is the right recipe to ensure an increase in competitive power in an increasingly demanding business environment. In the future, the competitiveness of the Alliance can be further enhanced with a bigger focus on quality of service.
