Abstract:V diplomskem delu z naslovom Pleteršnikov Slovensko-nemški slovar je predstavljeno Pleteršnikovo slovaropisno delo, tako iz zgodovinskega vidika, kot tudi praktično z analizo njegovega geselskega članka. V uvodu je prikazan kronološki pregled slovenskega slovaropisja od 16. stoletja pa vse do Pleteršnikovega slovarja. Zanimivi so bili tudi pogovori s krajani Pišec, ki so mi razkrili, kako velik je bil njegov pomen in vloga v kraju ter vse o prenovi domačije, marsikaj zanimivega pa sem izvedela tudi iz zapiskov župnijskega arhiva. Uvod diplomskega dela, poleg že prej omenjenega, zajema tudi življenje, delo in pomen Maksa Pleteršnika. Poglobila sem se v njegovo slovaropisno delo in tudi druga pomembna dela ter prevode, ki jih je prispeval kot klasični filolog in slavist. Pomembna se mi je zdela njegova skrb za slovenstvo ter narodno prihodnost. Prizadeval si je, da bi bili Slovenci narodno bolj zavedni, da bi se izobraževali in bili seznanjeni s svojim jezikom, literaturo in kulturo. Zanimive so tudi njegove misli v članku Naša prihodnost, ki govorijo prav o tem. Kako zelo cenjen in spoštovan je bil Maks Pleteršnik, pa sem prikazala v preglednici. Iz preglednice je razvidno, kako so ga naslavljali, kaj so ga spraševali in kdo vse se je v pismih nanj obračal. Za konec poglavja sem predstavila še njegovo delovanje pri Slovenski matici. Pleteršnik je bil mnenja, da bi Slovenska matica morala biti predvsem znanstvena institucija, ki bi izdajala znanstveni časopis in znanstvene knjige. Njegove predloge je Bleiweis odločno zavrnil in Pleteršnik je izstopil iz Matičnega odbora. Sledi jedro diplomskega dela, ki obsežneje obravnava nastajanje Pleteršnikovega slovarja ter zgradbo njegovega geselskega članka. Najprej sem predstavila predzgodovino nastajanja slovarja in slovar skozi čas, na tem mestu pa je pomembno tudi Vodnikovo delovanje in prizadevanje, da se objavi njegovo rokopisno delo in zgodovina njegovega slovarja, ki sem jo predstavila. Kasneje pa se s slovaropisnim načrtom Slovenskega društva oživi prizadevanje, ki sta ga skušala uresničiti že Kumerdej in Vodnik s svojima rokopisnima slovarjema. Tako je leta 1860 najprej nastal Cigaletov nemško-slovenski slovar in s tem uresničitev prvega dela slovaropisnega načrta. Uresničitev drugega dela slovaropisnega načrta Slovenskega društva je bila precej dolgotrajna in zaznamovana z veliko vprašanji. Prvi snopič zelo pričakovanega Pleteršnikovega slovensko-nemškega slovarja je izšel tik pred novim letom 1893. Leta 1895, ko je izšel zadnji, triindvajseti snopič, pa je bil drugi del slovaropisnega načrta končno uresničen. Maks Pleteršnik se je tako izkazal za izjemnega jezikoslovca in njegov slovar predstavlja vrh slovenskega jezikoslovja in steber slovenske kulture. V nadaljevanju se bom poglobila v Pleteršnikovo zgradbo geselskega članka in predstavila oblike njegovih geselskih člankov, ki sem jih tudi analizirala. Nato bom prikazala, kako veliko delo je opravil in da njegov slovar temelji na jasni slovaropisni in jezikovni teoriji ter že vrsto let dokazuje zelo visoko uporabno vrednost. Sledila bo primerjava Pleteršnikovega koncepta geselskega članka s Slovarjem slovenskega knjižnega jezika in Murkovim slovarjem. Skozi diplomsko delo bom poskušala dokazati, da si sodobnega slovenskega slovaropisja brez Pleteršnika ne moremo prestavljati ter da je pomemben vir za nastanek Slovarja slovenskega knjižnega jezika. Diplomsko delo je zaključeno s pregledom literature in simpozijev o Maksu Pleteršniku. V kronološkem zaporedju so predstavljena zborovanja in simpoziji po posameznih srečanjih. Strokovni odbor Maks Pleteršnik vsako leto organizira tradicionalno septembrsko srečanje slovenskih in tujih slovaropiscev v Pleteršnikovem rojstnem kraju. Vsi prispevki so objavljeni v šestih samostojnih znanstvenih zbornikih, medtem ko eden, leta 1995, ni izšel.

Title:PLETERŠNIK'S SLOVENE-GERMAN DICTIONARY
Abstract:The diploma thesis entitled Pleteršnik's Slovenian-German Dictionary presents Pleteršnik's dictionary writing work, both from a historical aspect and from a practical one with an analysis of one of his dictionary entries. The introduction presents a chronological review of Slovenian dictionary writing from the 16th century and all the way to Pleteršnik's dictionary. Interesting talks were conducted with the residents of the village of Pišece; they revealed how great his influence and role in the village was, as well as all there was to know about the renovation of his home. Many interesting facts were also found in the notes of the parish archives. In addition to the above-mentioned, the introduction to the thesis covers the life, work and importance of Maks Pleteršnik. I delved into his dictionary writing work and into his other important works and translations, which he contributed as a classical philologist and Slavicist. What I found important was his concern for Slovenianness and for the future of the nation. He endeavoured for Slovenians to be more nationally conscious, to be educated and acquainted with their language, literature and culture. Likewise interesting are his thoughts in the article Naša prihodnost [Our Future], which speak precisely about this. How very esteemed and respected Maks Pleteršnik was is shown in a table. The table clearly shows how he was addressed, what questions he was asked and who turned to him in letters. At the end of the chapter is a presentation of his work at the publishing house Slovenska matica. Pleteršnik was of the opinion that Slovenska matica should be a primarily scientific institution that would publish a scientific newspaper and scientific books. Bleiweis decisively rejected his proposals and Pleteršnik withdrew from the board of Slovenska matica. This is followed by the core of the diploma thesis, which discusses the creation of Pleteršnik's dictionary and the structure of his dictionary entry more comprehensively. It starts by presenting the prehistory of the creation of the dictionary and the dictionary through time; also of importance is the activity of Vodnik and his efforts to publish his manuscripts and the history of his dictionary, which is also presented. Later on the dictionary writing plan of the society Slovensko društvo revived the efforts that Kumerdej and Vodnik had already tried to realise with their manuscript dictionaries. Thus in 1860 Cigale's German-Slovenian Dictionary was the first to be created and with it the first part of the dictionary writing plan was realised. The realisation of the second part of the dictionary writing plan of Slovensko društvo was quite protracted and marked with many issues. The first fascicle of the highly anticipated Pleteršnik's Slovenian-German Dictionary was published just before New Year's Eve in 1893. In 1895, when the last, twenty-third fascicle was published the second part of the dictionary writing plan was finally realised. Maks Pleteršnik proved himself to be an exceptional linguist and his dictionary presents the pinnacle of Slovenian linguistics and a pillar of Slovenian culture. The remaining part of the thesis delves into the structure of Pleteršnik's dictionary entry and presents the forms of his dictionary entries, which were also analysed. Afterwards it demonstrates the greatness of the work he performed and that his dictionary is based on a clear dictionary writing and linguistic theory and that it has been proving its high useful value for many years now. This is followed by a comparison of Pleteršnik's concept of a dictionary entry with the Dictionary of Slovenian Literary Language and with Murko's dictionary. I will try to prove throughout the diploma thesis that one cannot imagine modern Slovenian dictionary writing without Pleteršnik and that he was an important source for the creation of the Dictionary of Slovenian Literary Language.
