Obe državi sta občutili vpliv svetovne gospodarske krize v letu 2009, a si z učinkovitimi ukrepi dokaj uspešno krepita gospodarstvo.

Title:Comperative economic analysis of water transport in Slovenia and Poland
Abstract:In this thesis we focused on water transport in Slovenia and Poland. In both countries, this form of transport has an important function in the transport of goods and passengers. Poland has about 700 kilometers of coastline and orderly system of inland waterways and for this reason a large number of sea and river ports, while Slovenia has only 47 kilometers of coastline and is not covered with rivers, canals and lakes for the transport of goods and passengers, and has only one international cargo port and two smaller passenger marinas. It is understandable that in Poland a much larger movements of goods and passenger in water transport are made than in Slovenia. In our view, both countries with respect to geographical capabilities have fairly well developed infrastructure and waterborne transport of goods and passengers. Both countries felt the impact of the global economic crisis in 2009, but effective economic measures quite successfully strengthen the economy. Poland was the only country in the European Union which at the time of economic crisis had positive economic growth.
Keywords:water traffic, maritime transport, inland waterway transport, cargo traffic, transport of goods, transport of passengers, infrastructure.
