Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča. Lep in zdrav izgled naših zob na prvi pogled odražata posameznikovo samozavest, moč in osebnost. Vendar se za zdravim nasmehom skrivajo tako zdrava usta in zobje ter dobra in dosledna ustna higiena, ki se prične še pred otrokovim rojstvom ter nadaljuje skozi celo življenje. V diplomskem delu smo predstavili razvoj mlečnega in stalnega zobovja ter tri najpomembnejše dejavnike, ki so odločilnega pomena za zdravje zob in ustne votline: pravilna prehrana brez sladkorja, dobra ustna higiena ter redni pregledi pri zobozdravniku. Opisani so vplivi na zdravje zob in ustne votline, kot so dojenje, dodajanje fluora, uživanje zdrave prehrane in pijače ter dosledna higiena s ščetkanjem zob. Izpostavili smo velik pomen pravočasnega preventivnega obiska zobozdravnika ter pomembno vlogo medicinske sestre pri zobozdravniškem pregledu. Metodologija raziskovanja. V diplomskem delu smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela. Teoretična izhodišča pri diplomskem delu smo opredelili s pomočjo analize domače in tuje strokovne literature ter virov. Sklep. Zobozdravniški pregled otroka pri nas se izvaja v skladu s predvideno zakonodajo o zobozdravstveni dejavnosti. Zdravo zobovje in ustna votlina vplivata na boljše psihofizično počutje, zato ni naključje, da je skrb za zdravje zob ena izmed ključnih človeških vrednot. Pri osveščanju pa ima pomembno vlogo prav medicinska sestra.

Title:The Child and the dentist
Abstract:Theoretical introduction. The nice, healthy appearance of teeth at first glance reflects the individual’s self-confidence, power and personality. But there is much more behind a healthy smile: a healthy mouth and teeth, and good and consistent oral hygiene which begins even before the child's birth and continues throughout life. This bachelor’s dissertation introduce the development of milk and adult teeth in detail and set out the three most important factors that are vital for a healthy set of teeth and oral cavity: a proper diet without sugar, good oral hygiene and regular check-ups with a dentist. It goes on to describe influences on teeth and oral cavity health such as breast-feeding, added fluoride, eating healthy food and drinks and consistent hygiene with tooth-brushing. It highlights the major importance of timely preventive visits to a dentist and important role of the dental assistant in dental check-ups. Research methodology. In the thesis, we used the descriptive method. Theoretical background in thesis we have identified through the analysis of domestic and foreign literature and resources. Conclusion. Dental examination of the child in us is carried out in accordance with the envisaged legislation on dental services. Healthy teeth and oral cavity affect on a better physical and mental health, so it is no coincidence that the concern for the health of your teeth is one of the key human values. In raising this awareness plays an important role dental assistant.
