Title:PROTESTS AS GLOBAL PHENOMENON IN INTERNATIONAL ENVIRONMENT - INFLUENCE OF CROSSCULTURAL AND NATIONAL ASPECT ON MASS MEDIA REPORTING
Abstract:The present master thesis deals with the protests as global phenomenon in the international arena. In the theoretical part, we present the concept of globalization, global trends, protests and their integration/connection with media reporting. The paper discusses the influence of interculturalism and nationality in media reporting, based on knowledge of different theorists. The most important part of the thesis is empirical part in which we compare daily press in Slovenia, with reporting in the UK and U.S.. In this way, we try to find repeating patterns of reporting and apply them in the Slovenian territory. The purpose of the research is to determine, how political ideology affects the reporting on protests in three different countryes – Slovenia, UK and U.S..
