Sestavila sem anketni vprašalnik in izvedla anketo, s katero sem pridobila nekaj rezultatov in ugotovitev.

Abstract:In this diploma project, I did the research how many Slovenian people use their safety helmet when they get on their bicycle, not depending on where they go, just to the supermarket or a longer tour out to the countryside. I did a research study where I got some of the information. I found out how it is with the cyclists in Europe and witch cities are bicycle friendly, and how it is with the obligational use of safety helmets. The information are mostly gathered from the internet, where I got the statistical reports of cyclist’s accidents and their injuries on the region of Slovenia. The first part is also including some interesting new helmet designs witch would probably convince cyclists in Slovenia to wear them. It is explained how and from what materials safety helmets are made of and compared different safety standards on how they are tested. I also explained when you should exchange your helmet and what could happen in an accident when the safety helmet is no longer good. In the second part I shed some thought towards the national program for cycling, were they try very hard to reduce the accidents and hazards for cyclists. I described the program ROSEE which the government of Slovenia started to execute. I am happy that so much work is being done for the safety of the cyclists and that that improves their mobility, mostly thru the cities of Ljubljana and Maribor which are the most bicycle friendly cities so far. I know that more work is going to be done out of the cities where high speeds of cars and unsuitable road sections are still very dangerous.
