Abstract:

Title:
Preparation and application of microcapsules on textile materials
Abstract:
In the context of this thesis work, theoretical and experimental research were carried out in the field of developing microcapsules, based on ethyl cellulose containing lavender essential oil, for application on textile material. The study was conducted in two parts. In the first section microcapsules were developed using the emulsion encapsulation process. The microcapsules were then applied with heat fixation onto textile material for the second segment of the thesis. After applying the developed microcapsules, samples of the textile material were scanned under an electron microscope and the observations were documented. According to the results, mechanical damage was detected on the microcapsules. Additionally, an agglomeration of microcapsules in bigger particles hindered the application of microcapsules on textile material.
