Title:FEATURES OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP: CASE STUDY
Abstract:The purpose of this thesis is to explore what “Social Entrepreneurship” is, who are social entrepreneurs, what is the difference between classic and social Entrepreneurship and who helps develop social Entrepreneurship and/or related projects in our environment. To find that out I approached the problem from two different aspects: Theoretical aspect and Empirical aspect. In the first theoretical part, we discussed basic concepts of Entrepreneurship, saw the difference between classic and social Entrepreneurship, found out what is the current state of social Entrepreneurship in Slovenia along with what its features are. Then, by achieving development goals, we saw the role and legislation of social Entrepreneurship in European Union. In the second Empirical part, we used a case study. In the second, Empirical part we applied a case study based on the project named “Tekstilnica iz Koroške regije.” We performed an interview with the founders of the project “Tekstilnica iz Koroške regije.” With the research we found out that the social Entrepreneurship in Slovenia is still underdeveloped unlike in the other countries, due to the tradition and understanding of entrepreneurial freedom, complicated legislation and access to capital. The purpose of social companies is to offer employment to those who are unable to find it themselves and to secure them social safety. They educate people to the extent that they are independent, that they have the feeling they can contribute to the company and that they are satisfied with the work conditions
