Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo predstavili Računovodski informacijski sistem Prve osnovne šole Slovenj Gradec.

Title:IMPACT OF ACCOUNTING INFORMATION SYSTEM ON MANAGEMENT IN A PRIMARY SCHOOL
Abstract:In our dissertation we presented an accounting information system of the First primary school Slovenj Gradec. To analyse this system, we developed an argument, that an accounting information system is a part of business information system. We defined the information systems and the information, which is a kind of a basic unit of these systems. We researched what information systems are present in educational system, how they are connected and what possibilities for work they offer to the performers and users of the school system. We focused on presentation of First primary school Slovenj Gradec and its accounting information system. We studied working tasks of the management on annual, monthly, weekly and daily level and analysed, how often and which accounting information the management needs for working. Our findings were, that in comparison to other accounting information systems the existent accounting information system of First primary school Slovenj Gradec, is very cunning, but it doesn’t provide enough support for several business activities being in progress besides the main activity of the primary school. These several business activities are curricular activities, free time activities and courses, outdoor schools, culture activities, competitions, preparation of school meals, staff education, collaboration in projects and many more. We make the financial reports for every of these activities, but planning of these activities is made manual to define the financial sources and the contextual data. We also found out that some data are double entered into different information systems at school. Our conclusion is that in the long-term, the best solution is to unite the different information systems of the school into one, complete system, named Business intelligence system after different literature. The system would enable the management to effectively plan the work and it would enable the coordination with employees, the founder of the public institution primary school, the Ministry of education and other business partners. The management would also have an overview of the status of every task and the level of realization of them.
