Abstract:	Tako Evropska unija kot družbena kategorija mladih sta za današnjo slovensko družbo zelo pomembni, saj Evropska unija predstavlja tisto nadnacionalno institucijo, ki pomembno vpliva na odločitve in delovanje slovenske države, mladi pa so tista družbena skupina, ki bo v prihodnosti pomagala te procese soustvarjati in spreminjati. V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela smo se najprej osredotočili na skupino mladih kot družbeno kategorijo ter podali različne definicije le-te. V nadaljevanju smo se osredotočili na aktualne politike, ki jih Evropska unija izvaja na področju mladine, hkrati pa smo izpostavili tudi posamezne programe, namenjene dobrobiti ter razvoju družbene kategorije mladih. Nadaljevali smo s preučevanjem preteklih raziskav na temo stališč mladih do Evropske unije, ki predstavljajo glavnino empiričnega dela pričujoče diplomske naloge. V empiričnem delu smo s pomočjo raziskave Mladina 2013, ki so jo izvedli raziskovalci Filozofske fakultete v Mariboru, analizirali stališča, mnenja in ocene mladih v Sloveniji glede Evropske unije ter dejavnike le-teh. V četrtem poglavju smo strnili vse ugotovitve, ki smo jih pridobili med pisanjem diplomskega dela, hkrati pa za določene zaključke poiskali razlage in odgovore. Ugotovili smo namreč, da imajo mladi v Sloveniji pozitivno stališče do Evropske unije le na ravni evropske integracije, medtem ko so njihova stališča do EU na politični in gospodarski ravni negativna. Pričujoče diplomsko delo nam tako daje poglobljen vpogled v problematiko stališč mladih v Sloveniji do Evropske unije.

Title:	ATTITUDES OF YOUTH TOWARDS EUROPEAN UNION
Abstract:	Both European Union and youth are important for Slovenian society. That is to say European Union should be understood as an institution, whose actions have an impact on the decisions and operation of Slovenian government; similarly, youth are a social group, who will modify and co-create these processes. At first, in the theoretical part of our thesis, we focused on youth as a social category, and presented some relevant theories on youth. In the following sequence of the theoretical part of our thesis we mainly focused on current policies of the European Union in the field of youth, moreover, we also highlighted specific programmes aimed at the welfare and development of the category of young people. We continued with examination of different past studies about the attitudes of youth about European Union, which represents the bulk of the empirical part of the present thesis. For the purposes of our empirical analysis we used data obtained by the Mladina 2013 research, which was conducted by researchers at the Faculty of arts Maribor. We obtained an insight into the views, opinions and estimates of young Slovenians regarding the European Union on the basis of our analysis. In the fourth chapter we summarized the findings which emerged during the writing of our thesis, and discussed the relevance of our findings. The results indicate that young people in Slovenia have a positive attitude towards the EU only at the level of European integration, while their views towards EU on the political and economic level are negative. The present thesis presents insights into the views of young Slovenians about European Union.
