Rinomanometrične preiskave pred operativnim posegom in spremljanje uspeha septoplastike so bile predmet kar nekaj študij. Namen raziskave je ugotoviti, v kakšni meri pride do povečanja kvalitete življenja operiranih pacientov glede pričakovanega izboljšanja dihanja skozi nos. Raziskovalna metodologija: Raziskava je temeljila na kvantitativni metodologiji raziskovanja z uporabo delno strukturiranega vprašalnika. Dve skupini anketirancev, septoplastike in rinoseptoplastike, sta izpolnjevali test dan pred operacijo ter en mesec in tri mesece po njej. Pridobljene podatke smo prikazali v programu Microsoft Word in Microsoft Excel v obliki frekvenčnih tabel in grafov. Rezultati študije dobljene z rinomanometrijskim merjenjem nam sugerirajo, da se je po septoplastiki in rinoseptoplastiki popravil občutek pri dihanju, s tem pa tudi kvaliteta življenja operiranih pacientov. Sklep: Z uvajanjem rinomanometrije v standardni rinološki pregled smo dobili objektivne parametre stanja nosne obstrukcije. Postoperativni rinomanometrični rezultati statistično obdelanih skupin kažejo na pomembno boljše dihanje skozi nos pri obeh skupinah.

Title:A COMPARISON OF RHINOMANOMETRICAL FINDINGS IN PATIENTS BEFORE AND AFTER RHINOSURGERY
Abstract:Nasal septum is a partition of bone and cartilage lined with a respiratory mucous membrane, which divides the nose into two cavities. Uneven development of surrounding anatomical structures or traumas in growth can cause septum to deviate to one side, and finally affect nasal breathing. Setting objective indicators for surgery is not an easy task. Sometimes it depends on patient’s persistence or doctor’s subjective opinion. Rhinomanometrical examinations before the surgical procedure and success monitoring of septoplasty were the subject of several studies. The goal of the research is to determine the degree to which the quality of life has been improved in patients in relation to the expected improvement of nasal breathing. Research methodology: The research was based on quantitative methodology and consisted of a partially structured questionnaire. Two groups of patients, septoplasty and rhinoseptoplasty respectively, were given the test a day before the surgery as well as one and three months afterwards. Collected data was presented in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel frequency tables and charts. Results of the study based on rhinomanometrical examination indicate an improved subjective feeling of breating process and quality of life of septoplasty and rhinoseptoplasty patients postoperatively. Conclusion: By introducing the rhinomanometry as a standard rhinological examination we got objective parameters of nasal obstruction condition. Postoperative rhinomanometrical results of statically treated patients point to significant improvement in nasal breathing in both groups.
