Abstract:	V svoji diplomski nalogi sem predstavil forenzično lingvistiko. V uvodu sem se dotaknil razlogov za izbiro te teme in svojih ciljev v diplomski nalogi. Diplomsko nalogo sem začel z definicijo forenzične lingvistike, z zgodovino, s področji forenzične lingvistike ter z dokumenti, pri katerih se lahko forenzična lingvistika uporabi za analizo. Nadaljeval sem s predstavitvijo forenzične sociolingvistike, ugotavljal, katere lastnosti lahko ugotovimo z njeno pomočjo in kako se jezik spreminja z določenimi dejavniki vsakega posameznika. Za tem je sledila predstavitev forenzične psiholingvistike, ki vključuje oceno grožnje, pri kateri sem se dotaknil specifičnih lastnosti, ki se pojavijo pri preiskovanju le-te, ter dodal primere in analizo ocene grožnje. K forenzični psiholingvistiki spada tudi identifikacija avtorja, ki je ponazorjena s primerom, in uporaba analiziranja verbalnega izražanja političnih figur, ki nam pomaga določiti njihove osebnostne lastnosti. Nalogo sem nadaljeval s primeri. Vključil sem več različnih primerov, pri katerih so lingvisti pomagali organom pregona pri preiskovanju ali dokazovanju krivde na sodišču. Primeri so iz različnih kategorij, najprej so navedeni primeri klicev v sili in to, kako potekajo, kako jih lingvisti analizirajo, kako se operaterji odzivajo na podatke, ki jim jih posreduje klicatelj. Naslednji primer je daljši, nerešeni primer grozilnih pisem. Za tem so izjave pred usmrtitvami zapornikov v ZDA ter kratka analiza, kakšna je v večini primerov vsebina teh izjav. Zadnja kategorija primerov so bila poslovilna pisma, ki so jih posamezniki napisali, preden so storili samomor, ter primerjava z lažnimi pismi, s katerimi so posamezniki hoteli prikriti umor. Diplomsko nalogo sem nadaljeval s potrditvijo ali zavrnitvijo hipotez ter jo zaključil z razpravo in literaturo.

Abstract:

The thesis describes forensic linguistics. The introduction explains my reasons for choosing this topic and also lists goals of my thesis. I have started my thesis with a definition of the phrase forensic linguistics, the history of forensic linguistics, fields that it encompasses and documents which can be used to analyze linguistic evidence. I have continued with presentation of forensic sociolinguistics and listed traits that can be determined by language and the way language can change with certain personal factors. Presented next is forensic psycholinguistics, which includes threat assessment, an important factor of hate mail and threats against life. Included in threat assesment are some of the specific characteristics, that are important while investigating threats, also added to this chapter are some cases and analysis of assessment. Author identification is also an important part of forensic psycholinguistics, which also includes cases. The last topic under forensic psycholinguistics was analysis of verbal behaviour of political figures in order to determine their personal traits. I have continued my thesis with cases in which forensic linguists were included during investigation of crimes or proving the guilt of suspects in court. First cases that I have included were parts of 911 calls, both genuine and false. I have focused on the way how they evolve, how linguists analyse them and how operators respond to different information, or lack of information.The next case was longer, an unsolved threat mail case. Following that there are final statements of prisoners executed in the USA, with short content analysis of said statements.The last category of cases were suicide letters, that included genuine letters and false letters with comparison of both. I have continued my thesis with confirmation or rejection of my hypothesis, and finished it in the form of a discussion and sources.
