Title:DEVELOPMENT OF SERVER AND WINDOWS PHONE 7 MOBILE APPLICATION FOR REAL-TIME USER TRACKING
Abstract:We are confronted with the dangers of sports on a daily basis. The greatest dangers occur when accidents happen in uninhabited and difficult to access areas, where a rescue operation can be a very time consuming process, especially when we do not know where a person in question is located. This thesis introduces the implementation of a server and a mobile application. The development of the mobile application and the research were limited to the Windows Phone 7 platform. Moreover, one of the most popular programming patterns, which is the most frequently used pattern for Windows Phone applications was introduced and described. Concerning the server, the focus was on the support of web applications offered by the Google Cloud Platform. The server was implemented using the REST (representation state transfer) architecture for which a framework that supports it was introduced and described. For the practical part of the thesis a server was used to save users’ current position and a mobile application which uses the server for uploading and downloading users’ current position was developed. The server also supports viewing of previous positions and tracks in order for the mobile application to draw them on the map.
