Prvi del diplomskega dela obravnava teoretične vidike vodenja pevskega zbora, in sicer so opisana psihološka, pedagoška in didaktična izhodišča za delo s šolskim pevskim zborom.

Title:DIFFERENCES IN MANAGING CHILDREN'S AND YOUTH CHOIR
Abstract:The diploma work Differences in managing children's and youth choir deals with choir management. Our aim was to find out what differences there are between managing children's and youth choirs as well as where they occur. The first part of the work treats the theoretical aspects of the choir management e.g. psychological and pedagogical issues related to school choir management and the physiology as well as the formation of child's voice. One chapter is dedicated to the choirmaster as a crucial person responsible for the choir's existence. The empirical part of the work was carried out with the help of the causal-experimental method. The questionnaire results showed that there were statistically important differences in managing children's choir to managing youth choir in all three research fields. Methodologically one can perceive differences in the frequency of interpretation change, the usage of certain instruments to assist learning and singing performed with choirmaster instrumental accompaniments. As far as singing lessons are concerned there are differences between children's and youth choirs in their frequency per week, the number of lessons dedicated to learning a new song, in number of songs learnt in one year, in number of competitions the choirs attends in one year and in how often students can participate in the selection of the repertoire. The differences can also be seen in the last part of the diploma work and are related to the choir management expertise self-assessment, the kind of singing the choir performs and the time choirs dedicate to socializing. According to the research results we suggest choirmasters to pay more attention to the audition, individual technical exercises, methodology they use and song interpretation which would lead to greater satisfaction of both, choirmasters as well as singers.
