Abstract:V diplomski nalogi smo raziskovali motivacijo učencev v procesu osnovnega baletnega izobraževanja.

Title:STUDENTS' MOTIVATION IN THE PROCESS OF CLASSICAL BALLET TRAINING AT THE LOWER BALLET SCHOOL
Abstract:In this graduation thesis we have studied students’ motivation in the process of classical ballet training at the lower ballet school. In the theoretical part, we presented the ballet education system in Republic Slovenia and we defined its positive influence on children’s and adolescents’ development. Further on, we defined the term motivation and we examined its importance for ballet training, as only motivated students persist in the ballet activity and develop their full dance potential. We examined the influence of social factors on ballet students, as well as we presented motivational strategies, which teachers can use to stimulate and raise the students’ motivation. In the empirical part we examined students’ motives for participating in ballet training, as well as their achievement motivation. We observed how the contents of ballet training and teachers’ skills influence the students’ motivation. We were interested in the existence of differences among students according to their level of training, satisfaction with their dancing and according to whose idea was that they started to dance. The fundamental findings of the research, which was based on the questionnaire and carried out in April 2013 on a sample of 244 students of Conservatory for music and ballet in Ljubljana and Maribor indicate that students for attending ballet lessons the most attract motives of satisfaction and pleasure as well as motives of developing their dancing skills. Among the contents of ballet training, students like the most to perform in the theatre. They appreciate teachers’ professional skills most. The reason for their success they ascribe to the effort and persistence. A desire to succeed and a fear of failure interlace in them.
