Abstract:Magistrsko delo govori o partizanski diverzantski akciji na cestni in železniški most v Mostah, junija 1942. Z uporabljenimi raziskovalnimi metodami smo v razpravi ovrednotili predpostavke.

Abstract:This Master's thesis discusses the Partisan sabotage action on the road and rail bridge in Moste, in June 1942. The people of Upper Carniola, as well as other Slovenians, had to confront the measures of Germanization, for the purpose of annexation of the occupied territory to the Third Reich as soon as possible. As a response to the conditions, the Liberation Front was founded on 27th April 1941 in Ljubljana. The first Partisan units began forming, which obstructed the occupying forces. The Individual Partisan groups gradually turned into units and units turned into battalions. One of them was the Cankar battalion. Due to the increase in German violence, the resistance of Slovenians grew and a mass December revolt was in the making, with its main aim of liberating the occupied territory. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful, but it showed the occupying forces that the Slovenians will not easily submit to a foreigner. The number of new soldiers increased while the violence against the civilian population intensified. Given the poor weaponry of the Partisans and the actions becoming less intense, the headquarters of the Slovenian Partisan units decided that the soldiers have to attack the enemy from all sides at the same time. The actions needed to be effective and at the same time give the impression that the Partisans have a large number of units. This would frighten the Germans and plant the seed of doubt about who will win. Therefore, the decision was made that the Cankar battalion would with its consistent gathering of safety data about the movement, number and location of the enemy units prepare the plan to set the road and rail bridge in Moste pri Žirovnici on fire. The action was successfully carried out on 26th June 1942. There were no casualties during the attack and the enemy did not intervene. The Germans later took a cruel revenge in the location of the arson and shot 28 hostages. The traffic was stopped for 20 days. With the use of the research methods the disquisition evaluates the hypotheses.
