V raziskovalnem delu smo s pomočjo risanja umeritvenih krivulj in računanja koeficienta R2 primerjali indirektni gojitveni metodi štetja glive Candida albicans in sicer z gojitvijo na selektivnem gojišču in merjenjem motnosti tekočega gojišča.

Title:A COMPARISON OF TWO METHODS OF COUNTING THE FUNGUS CANDIDA ALBICANS AS ONE OF THE AGENTS OF NOSOCOMIAL INFECTIONS
Abstract:Candida albicans is one of the many saprophytes on the mucous membranes of man. It can be found in the mouth, respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract and the vagina of 25 % of perfectly healthy people. As soon as our natural resistance drops, already on the conditions that the fungus Candida albicans multiplies and grows the rest of the microflora. Candida albicans is the most common fungus that is responsible for most of the localized fungal infections in humans. Patients with reduced immune resistance, oncology patients and patients infected with HIV are at particular risk for the development of Candida albicans, which can become a systemic infection. In the thesis we focus on Candia albicans fungus as to cause infections associated with health and health care. In the theoretical part we described the fungus Candida albicans. It causes the disease, prevention of infection and it's treatment. In general, we examined hospital-acquired infections. The research work we are using the drawing calibration curves and calculating the R2 coefficient compared to the indirect method of counting the culture of the fungus Candida albicans through breeding on a selective medium and measuring the turbidity of the liquid medium. We have found that the method of counting in a spectrophotometer Hach Lange DR 2800 most comparable with the wavelength of 560 nm.
Keywords:infections associated with health and medical care, spektofotometer, cultivation methods of counting, Candida albicans.
