Abstract:
Diplomsko delo je namenjeno predstavitvi podatkovne baze NoSQL Apache Cassandra, predstavitvi njene arhitekture in podatkovnega modela ter predstavitvi njenih prednosti in slabosti. Prikazali bomo načine za manipulacijo s podatki in podrobneje opisali ukaze CQL in ukaze v ukaznem vmesniku CLI. Apache Cassandro smo primerjali z relacijsko podatkovno bazo in na ta način predstavili razlike med njima ter opisali, kdaj je smiselno uporabiti Apache Cassandro. Za primerjavo baz smo izdelali tudi performančne teste, s katerimi smo preverili razliko v hitrosti pri dodajanju in branju podatkov med Apache Cassandro in relacijsko podatkovno bazo MySQL.

THE ANALYTICAL DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM APACHE CASSANDRA
Abstract:
The thesis aims to present NoSQL database Apache Cassandra, present its architecture, data model, and present its advantages and disadvantages. We will demonstrate methods for data manipulation and we will describe CQL commands and commands of CLI command interface. We compared Apache Cassandra with relational database and we showed difference between them, and we described, when it is appropriate to use Apache Cassandra. For comparison of database we created the performance test with which we checked the difference in performance when adding and reading data between Cassandra and relational database MySQL.
