Zaradi velikega števila zaposlenih in zato tudi zaradi veliko uporabnikov informacijske opreme je teh prijav vsak dan veliko. Do problema prihaja pri vnašanju podatkov v aplikacijo, saj pogodbeno podjetje zahteva podatke o tipu naprave, serijsko in inventarno številko naprave.

Title:LINKING DATA BASE TO USERS ERROR REPORTS SUBMISSION
Abstract:The purpose of this diploma paper is to facilitate the work of staff carrying out the daily duty of receiving notices about hardware errors and faults. In the service centre of a company X, where users report errors, personnel comes up against a difficulty how to enter these errors in report application. As company employs a large number of workers the number of users of information equipment is also large so there is also quite a lot of reports every day. The problem arises when enetering data in application as contractual partner requires data on type of the equipment, and its serial number and stock keeping unit. As these data are located in different positions on equipment and as the equipment is sometimes difficult to access the data cannot be easily obtained. Therefore other errors in the centre cannot be eliminated in due time. The majority of data on information equipment is already gathered in data base DB2. They can be obtained simply by enetering of search parameter of stock keeping unit. Linking the report application to information equipment data base would facilitate work and reduce waiting time for the users. In the Lotus Notes Domino environment we upgraded the error reporting application for users by means of Domino Designer. Applying programming language Lotus Script and object LSX LC for linking to bases DB2 we linked error reporting application for users in Lotus Notes Domino environment to application where data on information equipment are stored. This is a Java application supported by base DB2. The prototype solution was created in test aplication for users' error report submission in Lotus Notes environment, where users of application can submit their opinions so that it could be made even more user friendly. Linking these applications we reduced time for error submission and ensured greater satisfaction of employees, of personnel receiving error submissions as of users. We likewise reduced the possibility of entering and forwarding of incorrect data to contractual servicemen and in this way reduced additional costs incurred by unnecessary additional work of servicemen.
