Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Koncept učeče se organizacije ustvarja okolje, ki vzpodbuja izmenjavo znanja, timsko delo, inovativnost, neprestano učenje, sistemsko razmišljanje in spreminjanje kulture organizacije.

Title:THE CONCEPT OF A LEARNING ORGANISATION IN NURSING HOMES IN CARINTHIA
Abstract:Theoretical starting-points The learning organization concept is a term given to an environment that facilitates learning and encourages team work, creativity, continuous learning, systems thinking, and cultural changes within an organization. The concept also promotes lifelong learning and helps to create stimulating conditions and surroundings, as well as the highest quality of services at all levels. The key to sustaining the highest quality of one’s business lies in well-motivated, educated, and content employees. Research Methodology Qualitative research was employed to analyse the influence of the effects of learning organization on workforce performance. The data was obtained with a questionnaire survey, divided into two sections. The first section consisted of 13 open-ended and closed-ended questions, while the second set consisted of 15 learning organization related statements. The statements were then rated by the respondents on a Likert scale. 138 employees from different social institutions in Koroška region were targeted. The obtained data were then analysed using various statistical Microsoft office software such as Word and Excel, as well as the SPSS software package. Findings According to the participants, employed in nursing homes in Koroška, the learning organization concept has significantly contributed to better quality and performance practices. Whereas the employee foreknowledge does not seem to have any effect on the implementation of the concept into the nursing facilities, the concept, on the other hand, seems to have instilled the desire to learn in most of the employees, who are aware of its significant impact on the quality of their work. The management too has acknowledged the importance of investing in the flow of know-how in order to remain competitive in the business environment. Conclusion The formation of a learning organization rests upon a quality-driven nursing staff. Not only that the staff members feel motivated and eager to learn, but they also embrace the learning organization concept and are strongly in favour of its implementation into their day-to-day work.
