Abstract:Diplomsko delo govori o pravicah invalidov, natančneje o pravicah invalidov s kronično vnetno črevesno boleznijo.

Title:RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASE BASED ON THE UNITED NATIONS CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES AND ITS IMPLEMENTATION BY HELP FROM THE SOCIETY
Abstract:The thesis is focusing on the rights of people with disabilities, especially on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities from inflammatory bowel disease. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, its development and the importance of content and actions of the Member is presented more in details. The Convention is the basic source of law which governs the rights of persons with disabilities. It is the foundation on which all other sources of law and all the activities of associations and organizations are based on. The principles and national efforts to enforce both of them are covered by Convention's content. Special emphasis in this thesis is on European Federation for Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis Associations – EFCCA. Further more, I pointed out Slovenian Society for inflammatory bowel disease - Association for IBD, its development and in particular the functions and activities of the Association to achieve its aims to promote the rights of persons with inflammatory bowel disease. Regretfully, Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is not always carried out in a way as everyone, and especially people with disabilities would wish for. Many associations on national and international level warn about this situation. One could say that these associations are „the voice of the Society of sick and disabled people.“ And the fact that they are much too often the target of discrimination and ignorance from others does not make it any easier for them to cope with the disease. Although Convention in it's basics forbids any anti-equivalence and discrimination towards people with disabilities, the reality is that it is often only the written form of rights about which the state in practise often forgets about. Therefore, the lives of disabled persons would not be as fulfilled and of much lower quality if it was not for these associations who tirelessly and with endless optimism fight for the rights of the disabled persons.
