Abstract:	Za razumevanje pomena medkulturnega izobraževanja in usposabljanja smo morali pričeti na začetku, zato smo se najprej lotili teoretičnega dela, kjer smo proučevali kulturo in medkulturnost v širšem smislu. Ob tem smo pozornost namenili tudi medkulturnim razlikam, medkulturnim vplivom in medkulturnim kompetencam. Nato smo opisali delo slovenske policije skozi čas od prve udeležbe policista na mednarodni misiji do danes. Večji del naloge smo namenili izobraževanju in usposabljanju slovenskih policistov za mednarodne misije in na podlagi teoretičnih spoznanj pripravili anketni vprašalnik, s pomočjo katerega smo analizirali mnenje policistov, ki so kadar koli sodelovali na mednarodnih misijah, o medkulturnem izobraževanju in usposabljanju, ki so ga deležni. Z opravljeno analizo smo prišli do ugotovitev, da ta v neki meri ne zadovoljujeta pričakovanj policistov. Skozi celoten proces pa smo spoznali, da se zaposleni v Sektorju za mednarodne policijske operacije izjemno trudijo, spremljajo potrebe in novosti ter stalno sledijo trendom in uvajajo spremembe, na posameznikih pa je, na kakšen način jih sprejemajo.

Title:	Intercultural education and training of police officers in Slovenian police for international missions
Abstract:	In order to understand the importance of intercultural education and training we had to start at the beginning, therefore we began with the theoretical part, where we studied culture and interculturalism in a broader sense. We also devoted attention to intercultural differences, intercultural impacts and intercultural competences. We then describer the work of the Slovenian police throughout time from the first participation of the police officer in an international mission until now. A major part of the thesis was devoted to education and training of Slovenian police officers for international mission and based on theoretical findings we prepared a questionnaire, with the help of which we analyzed the opinion of police officers, who were at any time participating in international missions, on the intercultural education and training that they receive. With the conducted analysis we found, that these to a certain extent do not fulfil the expectations of police officers. But throughout the entire process we found that employees of the Sector for international missions are trying very hard, follow the needs and novelties and always follow trends and introduce changes, however, it is on individuals, how they react to them.
