Abstract:V magistrskem delu smo predstavili kariero, izobraževanje in vpliv posebnosti oddelka na karierni razvoj osebja zdravstvene nege. V kvalitativnem delu smo raziskali vpliv oddelka na izobraževanje, napredovanje, absentizem in povprečno starost diplomiranih medicinskih sester. S kvalitativnim raziskovanjem smo ugotovili doživljanje kariere in izobraževanja med diplomiranimi medicinskimi sestrami. V kvantitativni analizi smo zajeli 53 naključno izbranih diplomiranih operacijskih sester in 53 naključno izbranih diplomiranih medicinskih sester z različnih oddelkov treh splošnih bolnišnic Slovenije. V kvalitativni analizi smo podatke zbrali s pomočjo individualnega delno strukturiranega intervjuja. V namenskem vzorcu je sodelovalo 5 diplomiranih operacijskih medicinskih sester in 5 diplomiranih medicinskih sester z različnih oddelkov treh splošnih bolnišnic Slovenije. Kvalitativne podatke smo analizirali z metodo analize, tematizacije in kodiranja.

Title:IMPACT OF SPECIAL SELECTION ON CAREER DEVELOPMENT OF NURSING STAFF
Abstract:In the masters thesis we described careers, education and impact of ward specialities on career development of nursing staff. In the qualitative part we researched the impact of the ward on education, promotion, absenteeism and average age of graduate nurses. With the qualitative research we established the perception of career and education among graduate nurses. In the quantitative analysis we analysed 53 randomly chosen graduate operating room nurses and 53 randomly chosen graduate nurses from different wards in three general hospitals in Slovenia. The data was collected in personnel and other departments of the general hospitals in Slovenia, and it was analysed by Excel. In the qualitative analyses we gathered data by the means of individual partly structured interview. Five graduate operating room nurses and five graduate nurses from different wards in three general hospitals in Slovenia participated in the sample. The qualitative data was analysed by the method of analyses, thematization and coding. The research confirmed the hypothesis that the ward has great impact on career development in nursing in the qualitative and quantitative way. It showed that there are no differences between graduate nurses in different wards regarding the number of hours of education, hours of absenteeism and average age, however they get promoted more often and receive higher average salaries. Their perception of their career is as a professional and personal path, including more responsibilities and more demanding jobs while constantly being educated and gaining experience. The place of work influences the chances of possibilities, motivation and wishes to achieve career development. Post-graduate education empowers them with broader horizons, personal growth, career development and nursing development.
