Abstract:Preiskovanje kaznivih dejanj je postopek, ki zajema številne faze in opravila kazenskega postopka, hkrati pa tudi veliko število udeležencev, ki vsak na svoj način prispevajo k reševanju kazenskih zadev. Preiskovalci oz. kriminalisti so tisti, ki neki dogodek podprejo z dokazi, da zoper storilca tega dejanja lahko steče kazenski postopek. Kriminalisti se pri svojem delu spopadajo s številnimi izzivi in ovirami, ki jih poskušajo preseči s pomočjo drugih udeležencev v preiskovanju, da bi uspešno rešili kaznivo dejanje. Posamezniki, ki sodelujejo pri preiskovanju kaznivih dejanj, so tožilci, različni izvedenci, priče, obveščevalci in druge institucije, ki lahko k preiskovanju pripomorejo s svojim sodelovanjem. Ljudje v vsakdanjem življenju uporabljamo različne vrste mišljenja, s pomočjo katerih se želimo odločati čim bolje. Kljub temu na nas vplivajo številni kognitivni procesi, ki lahko skupaj z vplivi družbe, medijev in lastne osebnosti privedejo do napak. Zaznavanje, spomin in naša osebnost v naših mislih ustvarjajo prepričanje o določenih podrobnostih in dejanski resnici dogodka. Predsodki, tunelski vid, stereotipi in drugi kognitivni razlogi za napake so lahko kombinacija številnih dejavnikov, ki se jim pri svojem delu želijo izogniti tudi preiskovalci. Da bi se izognili tovrstnim in drugim napakam, morajo biti preiskovalci pravilno usposobljeni, profesionalni pri izvajanju svojega dela in imeti morajo dobre kognitivne sposobnosti. Dandanes se v policiji, da bi odpravili čim več napak, odločajo za številna usposabljanja in izobraževanja, skupinsko delo ter splošno ozaveščanje posameznikov o mogočih posledicah napak.

Abstract:Criminal investigation is a process which contains numerous phases and jobs of criminal law procedure, that involves a big number of participants who in their own way contribute to the solving of criminal matters. Investigators are those who can support an event with evidence in order to start the criminal procedure towards the doer of the criminal act. Investigators are facing numerous challenges and obstacles at their work, which they try to solve through the cooperation with other participants with intention of solving a crime. Individuals who normally collaborate with criminal investigations are prosecutors, different kind of examiners, witnesses, informers and other institutions which can contribute to the investigation with its cooperation. In everyday life people tend to use different types of thinking, which help us make the best possible decisions as we can. Despite that, we are influenced by numerous cognitive processes which can lead us to making a mistake, jointly with the influence of society, media and our own personality. Perception, memory and our personality create in our mind a kind of certainty of details or actual truth of the event. Prejudice, tunnel vision, stereotypes and other cognitive reasons for the mistakes can be a combination of numerous factors that are trying to be avoided also by the investigators. In order to avoid these and other kind of mistakes the investigators need to be suficiently qualified for their work, profesional while doing their job and they need to have adequated personality and cognitive skills. Nowadays the measures that are used in the police to reduce the mistakes are numerous, such as education and trainings, team work and spreading a general awareness of the possible consequences of the mistakes.
