Abstract:
Magistrska naloga obravnava proces analize in ocene nadgradnje strežniške infrastrukture in storitev na Univerzi v Mariboru Fakulteti za organizacijske vede. Predstavljene so programske rešite za vzpostavitev in obvladovanje virtualnega okolja, predstavljeno je trenutno stanje IT strežniške infrastrukture in IT storitev znotraj ustanove. Povzet je načrt konsolidacije in nadgradnje fizičnih kot virtualnih strežnikov. Načrt je bil izdelan v skladu z metodologijo proizvajalcev programske opreme. Projektne naloge obsegajo: konsolidacijo devetih fizičnih strežnikov; migracijo devetih virtualnih slik; ukinitev štirih fizičnih strežnikov; nakup enega fizičnega strežnika za primarni domenski strežnik; nadgradnjo primarnega in sekundarnega domenskega strežnika; konsolidacijo triintridesetih virtualnih strežnikov; ukinitev enajstih neaktivnih in neuporabljivih virtualnih strežnikov; nadgradnjo štirinajstih virtualnih strežnikov; nadgradnjo na Hyper-v in migracija virtualnih strežnikov; Vzpostavitev gruče (HOST1 in HOST2) kot HA sistema; vzpostavitev varnostnega kopiranja na primarni in sekundarni lokaciji; nadgradnjo strežnikov e-pošte; vpeljavo dokumentnega sistema in optimizacijo tiskalniškega okolja. Projekt zaradi ukinjanja in migracije zastarele strežniške infrastrukture ter optimizacije tiskalniške opreme predvideva prihranke, ki bodo uporabljeni za nakup zmogljivejše strojne in programske opreme.

UPGRADE OF SERVERS AND IT SERVICES IN EDUCATION INSTITUTION
Abstract:
The Master's thesis deals with the process of analysis and assessment of upgrading the server infrastructure and services at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Organizational Sciences. The thesis contains a presentation of software for the creation and management of virtual environments, presentation of the current state of IT server infrastructure and IT services within the institution. Summarized consolidation plan for upgrading the physical and virtual servers. The plan was drawn up in accordance with the methodology of software manufacturers. Project tasks include: consolidation of nine physical servers; migration of nine virtual images; the abolition of the four physical servers; purchase of one physical server for the primary domain server; upgrading of primary and secundary domain name server; consolidation of thirty-three virtual servers; the abolition of eleven inactive and inapplicable virtual servers; upgrade of fourteen virtual servers; upgrade to Hyper-v and migration of virtual servers; setting up a cluster (HOST1 and HOST2) as a HA system; establishment of backups to the primary and sekunadrni location; upgrade of mail servers; the deployment of a document management system and the optimization of the print environment. The project predicts, that due to the shutdown and migration of the server infrastructure and the optimization of the printing equipment will result in savings that will be used to purchase more powerful hardware and software.
