Abstract:Namen diplomskega dela je bil proučiti uspešnost razmnoževanja žajblja (Salvia officinalis L.) na generativni in vegetativni način. Pri generativnem razmnoževanju smo proučevali vpliv okolja in termina setve na vznik in na morfološke značilnosti sejancev. Semena smo sejali v treh terminih v dveh okoljih: v steklenjaku in v plastenjaku. Ugotovili smo, da so semena bolje vzniknila v plastenjaku v vseh treh terminih. V prvem terminu je bil vznik 32-odstoten, v drugem 40-odstoten, in v tretjem 52-odstoten.

Title:The research of propagation of sage (Salvia officinalis L.) with seeds and cuttings
Abstract:The thesis focuses on the efficiency of the propagation of sage (Salvia officinalis L.) in terms of generative and vegetative growth. In the process of generative propagation we focused on the environmental impact and the impact of the date of the seeding on the emergence and morphological characteristics of the seedlings. Seeds were planted on three dates and in two environments: under glass and under plastic. We concluded that on all three dates the emergence of planted seeds was more efficient under plastic. The efficiency on the first date was 32 %, 40 % on the second date and 52 % on the third date. On the second and third date, the seedlings that were grown under plastic had statistically speaking a higher number of leaves, were shorter and had a stronger root system. Our main focus on researching cuttings was to determine, in three dates, the impact of plant grow regulator (0.1% concentration of indole-3-butyric acid) on the rooting and morphological characteristics of the rooted cuttings. The process of rooting the cuttings was performed under glass and in two environments: with a fog-system and under a polythene foil. On the basis of our findings we concluded that the first date (1. of July) was the most suitable in both environments, because we managed to achieve a rooting efficiency of over 93 %. In the case of a fog-system, an efficient rooting was postponed to the end of August. The presence of a plant grow regulator influenced the increase of morphological characteristics.
