Abstract:	Promet se je skozi leta globaliziral zaradi različnih dejavnikov. Sem uvrščamo hiter razvoj tehnologije in informacijskih sredstev, družbeni ter politični razvoj in proizvodnjo ter potrošnjo izdelkov, pa tudi potrošnike. Naročniki so postali zahtevnejši, želijo, da bi bilo blago dostavljeno v čim krajšem času, na točno določenem kraju in z najmanjšimi stroški. Zato morajo ladjarji uporabljati čedalje večje ladje. Vse to sili luke, da poglabljajo morje, izboljšujejo infrastrukturo in posodabljajo opremo. Skozi leta se povečuje trend pomorskega transporta, najbolj kontejnerskega transporta, saj se plovne poti izkazujejo kot najbolj učinkovite. Pristanišča si močno konkurirajo med seboj. Vsaka luka si želi, da bi s svojo zmogljivostjo ponudila ponudnikom oziroma potrošnikom najboljše storitve. Želi si imeti večji dobiček oziroma pozitiven poslovni izid, kar v veliki meri predstavlja prihod večjih ladij, z večjim ugrezom. Z večjim pretovorom in večjo povprečno velikostjo ladij bi pozitivno vplivali na poslovni izid poslovanja podjetja

Title:	The impact of the size of the freighter ship on the cargo
Abstract:	Traffic has become global over the years because of different factors. Including the fast development of technology and means of information, social and political development, the production and consumption of products, as well as the consumers. The transport subscribers have become more demanding, as they want their products delivered as soon as possible, at the exact location with the lowest possible expenses. Therefore, ship owners have to use increasingly bigger cargo ships. Consequently, ports are forced to take action in the form of deepening, improving their infrastructures and modernizing their equipment. The popularity of maritime transport is growing and especially that of freight transport, as the waterways have proven as the most efficient. Harbors are highly competitive, since each harbor wishes to offer its providers and consumers the best service possible. They all want higher profit or better performance, which is greatly connected with bigger ships with deeper draughts coming to port. More transshipment and bigger ships per average would have a positive impact on the performance of a company.
