Abstract:Izobraževanje in športna dejavnost učencev se med seboj pomembno dopolnjujeta in pogosto predstavljata pomembni del njihovih življenj. Uporabili smo deskriptivno in kavzalno neeksperimentalno metodo raziskovanja.

Title:STUDENT - SPORTSMAN
Abstract:Education and physical activity of students usually go hand in hand with each other and very often they both present extremely important parts of their lives. It is well known that physical activity is one of the best preventive factors to fight different diseases and that is has a positive influence on one's self-esteem and health. To some students physical activity presents only a way of spending their free time but others have higher goals in sport. With hard, systematic and intense training they want to become professional sportsmen, therefore they often become overloaded. School as an institution should help this students to coordinate their schoolwork and sporting commitments. In Slovenian secondary schools, students who are also talented sportsmen can gain a special status which offers them some privileges. But in addition to these, the status also defines obligations which must be fulfilled if a student wants to gain and keep the status. The main goal of this diploma paper was to find out whether good sportsmen can be successful, motivated and responsible students at the same time. The research has been made among 73 students – sportsmen in Maribor region, members of various sport clubs. We used a descriptive and causal non-experimental method of empirical research. The results show that most students do not have problems with coordinating their schoolwork and sporting commitments. They are well aware that their time for schoolwork is limited, therefore it should be wisely used.
