Abstract:V vsakdanjih pogovorih ima šaljivo komuniciranje pomembno mesto. Zbrali smo devet pogovorov in predstavili primere verbalnega in neverbalnega humorja.

Title:HUMOUR IN DISCOURSE BETWEEN LINGUISTIC PARTICIPANTS AGED BETWEEN 20 AND 30 YEARS OLD
Abstract:Humorous communication has an important position in day-to-day discourse. We meet various people on a daily basis and enter into communication contact with them. We often delegate most of our time to our friends, between who the communication is very relaxed, and humorous communication is typically most effective in a relaxed atmosphere; we can probably hardly imagine that we could joke around with a stranger on the street or with a police officer that stops us. How important are relations between the participants of the communication contact, for the use of humour, when do we use humour, how important are certain circumstances and can we use humour even when we are angry – we dealt with this kind of questions in this master’s thesis. In order so the communication starts flowing, the participants of the communication contact need to abide by a few "rules", so-called cooperative principle. According to Grice, the cooperative principle is the basic principle of communication; we also presented Grice’s maxims and the compliance with or violation of those maxims. Because speakers, during various communication circumstances, do not form sentences, but the text itself, we also focused some of our attention to the explanation of this fact, and additionally to the dialogue, as the most common form of collected discourse was dialog. The main problem of the master’s thesis was to find out which linguistic elements make people laugh, to present humorous discourse, and to analyse what is it that makes the uttered sentences humorous. We presented verbal and nonverbal humour in more detail, as well as theories based on humour, which later served as a starting point for the analysis of the collected conversations. Our premises were based on the superiority theory, the incongruity theory, the humour theory, which is based on a semantic scenario, and the general theory of verbal humour. We collected nine conversations and presented some examples of verbal and nonverbal humour. The analyses of the collected conversations are based on the theoretical assumptions; therefore, we also summarised how the theory applies to the practical examples, and whether our hypotheses were proved or disproved.
