Abstract:Učinkovita raba energije je eden izmed glavnih nalog za doseganje energetskih ciljev Evropske unije.

Title:EXPLOITATION OF LOW TEMPERATURE ENERGY SOURCES USING BINARY THERMODYNAMIC CYCLE
Abstract:The effective usage of energy sources is one of the main ways for achieving European energy goals. The low temperature heat sources are often appeared in the industrial processes, and due to its low energy potential they remain unused. One of the ways for exploitation of such sources is usage of binary thermodynamic Kalina cycle for electricity production. The cycle shows better performance in comparison to organic Rankine cycle for low temperature energy sources. The comparison between two Kalina cycles, KCS 34 and KCS 11 is represented in this paper. It is shown that KCS 34 system has greater overall efficiency for same operational parameters, but on the other hand KCS 11 has simpler design leading to easier optimization and regulation. Because of that fact, the KCS 11 system is more present in the industrial scale. The KCS 34 is more appropriate for large systems and for higher temperature sources, when the mentioned efficiency difference comes to the fore. Both Kalina processes are very flexible, meaning that operational parameters can be chosen in a way to meet external conditions such are temperature of condensation and heat sources
Keywords:Kalina cycle, binary thermodynamical cycles, effective energy usage
