Abstract:
The objective of this paper is firstly to map the adoption of the technologies for reduction of energy and resources consumption in production and, second, to verify the relationship between their implementation and the performance of the firm. The aim is also to contribute to the identification and understanding of the characteristics of the manufacturing firms that use this kind of innovative technologies in order to help policy makers to promote this strategic field in a suitable manner. Our suggested models give rise to explain how significant energy efficiency is, and how much of the variability in economic performance and environmental performance indicators can it explain.
