Abstract:V analizo prepoznavanja redkih vrst v Sloveniji je bilo vključenih 216 gnezdilcev.

Title:Rare breeding bird species in Slovenia
Abstract:The analysis of the rare bird species recognition in Slovenia incorporated 216 breeders. One fourth (species of the lower quartile Q1) were classified as rare species after Gaston's methodological approach. According to Rabinowitz's model of the seven forms of rarities, which is based on geographical distribution, population density and habitat selection, one third of the species were classified as rare. The difference between Gaston's and Rabinowitz's approaches was not statistically significant. On the basis of Rabinowitz's model, a list of 69 rare species of breeding birds of Slovenia was prepared. All rare species have been included in the current Red List of Endangered Plant and Animal Species of the Republic of Slovenia. A comparison between the Red List of Endangered Species and Rabinowitz's model of rarity unveils the fact that some common species have been classified as affected or vulnerable species, while some rare species, on the other hand, have been labelled as species out of danger or insufficiently known species. The relatively highest numbers of rare species are those from the orders of Ciconiiformes, Podicipediformes and Charadriiformes, i.e. the species adapted to water or marshy habitats.
