Abstract:
Članek obravnava posebnosti starostnika in komunikacijo kot sestavni del geriatrične zdravstvene nege. V njem so povzete osnovne značilnosti starostnika ter različni vidiki komuniciranja. Za uspešno komuniciranje je potrebno poznavanje teorije o komunikaciji, dobro poznavanje starejših ljudi z upoštevanjem individualnih razlik in sposobnost za vzpostavljanje pristnih odnosov. Bistvena naloga medicinske sestre pri deliu s starostniki je ustvarjanje pozitivnega odnosa, ki je usmerjen k ustvarjalnemu reševanju težavin problemov in pravočasnemu in odgovornemu odzivanju na starostnikove probleme.

Title:
Specific characteristics of the elderly in the light of communication
Abstract:
The article deals with specific characterists of the elderly in the light of communication as an inherent part of nursing care. The articlr summarizes basics characteristics of old people and different aspects of communication. Effective communication requires good knowledge of old people, considerationn of individual differences and capacity for the establishement of genuine relationships which is one of the basic tasks of a nurse. The aim of a genuinerelationship is creative problem solving and timely responsible reaction to them.
