Abstract:

Title:
Ternary system poly(sulphone)dimethylacetatamide : water; formation of membrane by wet phase inversion
Abstract:
Polysulphone is an important material for polymeric asymmetric porous membranes preparation. Commonly used mode for their preparation is the wet phase inversion of ternary system polysulphone/dimethylacetamide:water (PSf/DMA:▫$H_2O$▫). We have studied characteristics of the system PSf/DMA:▫$H_2O$▫ by formation of polysulphone membrane in the coagulation bath. In test-tubes we have made similar studies also by adding nonsolvent (▫$H_2O$▫) in initial PSfMA solution and vice-versa. By recognition that we attained we have tried to clear up PSf membrane formation mechanism, that we explained with "composition paths" in ternary phase diagram polymer/solvent:nonsolvent.
