Abstract:V diplomskem delu je obravnavana tema primerjalnega spremljanja fluorescence in vsebnosti klorofila pri najbolj zastopanih, samoniklih vrstah javorja na Slovenskem.

Title:Comparison of the three types of maple in relation to the monitoring of chlorophyll fluorescence during the vegetation season
Abstract:The graduation thesis deals with the theme of comparison of chlorophyll fluorescence and chlorophyll content of the most represented wild species of maple in Slovenia. Although there are six species of maple found in Slovenia, in this thesis I deal with three species, which often co-exist, namely: Sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatanus L.), Norway maple (Acer platanoides L.) and Field maple (Acer campestre L.). They are the most common species of maple in Slovenia. Plants in our environment are constantly exposed to different stress factors, like drought, frost, heat waves, and the lack of minerals in the soil or excessive exposure to toxic pollutants. In my thesis I evaluated the condition or plastic responses to environmental stress of the three types of maple over the vegetation season (from May to October 2013), by performing ecophysiological measurements with the help of special measuring devices, such as a device for the measurement of chlorophyll fluorescence and a device for evaluating the content of chlorophyll – SPAD. I used the resulting data for comparison between the three types of maple and to figure out how species differ in photosynthesis characteristics and leaf coloration. Throughout the measurement year (2013) the maples were exposed to several stress factors, particularly drought and heat. I was also interested in the data measured within a single species of maple. The graduation thesis will also present some anatomical and morphological properties of leafs for each species of maple.
Keywords:Acer, Sycamore maple, Norway maple, Field maple, leaf anatomy, chlorophyll fluorescence, SPAD value.
