Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Urinska inkontinenca za žensko predstavlja higienski in socialni problem.

Title:WOMEN'S AWARENESS OF URINARY INCONTINENCE IN THE POMURJE REGION
Abstract:Theoretical standpoints: The female urinal incontinence is a heavy higienic and social burden for women. The problem affects not only women themselves, but their various surrounding too, which is a social issue of greater scale. Public awareness can help them to seek for help as soon as possible. Research Methodology: The research implemented various surveys as a part of quantitative methodology. The acquired data was statistically analyzed using MS Excel computer program. Results: The study shows us that women are well aware of the risk factors of urinari incontinence and Kegel exercises are the most common method being used as a cure, while other methods are not well known in the region. As a matter of fact, they don't know about the INKO association and their purpose. On the positive side a lot of women stated that talking about the issue makes the feel uncomfortable. Conclusion: We the healthcare workers are the ones which can help the most to increase life quality of women with promoting continence and spreading information about urinal incontinence. Improving the education of healthcare workers about urinal incontinence treatment is needed. At the moment there is still a lack of an aid association in the region Prekmurje to help the affected.
