Anketo smo izvajali meseca decembra, 2014 v eni izmed psihiatričnih bolnišnic v Sloveniji, v kateri so sodelovali zaposleni v zdravstveni negi. V raziskavo smo vključili 25 ustrezno izpolnjenih anket.

Title:Suicide identification in patients with depressive disorder
Abstract:Starting points: Depression is a disease, which affects the function of the brain and can result in various disorders. It always affects the whole person: their mood, thinking, feeling, behaviour, how the person sees the world around them and how they feel about themselves. Suicidality represents the most severe symptom of depression, but unfortunately nurses often have problems with its identification. The purpose of the thesis was to assess, how successful are nurses in the identification of suicidality in patients with a depressive disorder. Methodology of the research: In research a quantitative method of work was used with the help of a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire, which were included 17 questions. The questionnaire for the research consisted of open and semi-open type. The survey was conducted in one of the Slovenian psychiatric hospital in which was included employee from health care. 25 correctly completed questionnaires were included in the study. For the statistic treatment of results the program SPSS was used. The participants were split in two groups for analysis purposes, first on the basis of age (young and older) and secondly on the basis of gender (men and women). Results of research: The results of the research have shown that the majority (64 %) of the respondents believe they are sometimes able to recognize a suicidal person, while 36% of the respondents believe they are always able to recognize a suicidal person. The obtained data also indicates that the respondents medical staff is capable of recognizing both patients with depressive disorders and patients with suicidal tendencies, and also that the symptoms differ between these two types of patients. Conclusion: Better recognition of suicidality and the prevention of suicide would certainly benefit from an increased awareness of the society, additional training of health workers and additional research in this area.
