Abstract:Živimo v enaindvajsetem stoletju, svetu sodobne tehnologije.

Title:E-COMMERCE ABUSES AND MEASURES AGAINST THEM
Abstract:The 21st century, a world of modern technology, allows us and in a way forces us to use its services, in order for us to succeed. The development of online network created various services and opened up new possibilities of business making for faster and more affordable business, both for the service provider and the service user. But it also provides a wide range of opportunities for those, who look to abuse the service. It is getting harder and harder to defend oneself from these abuses, because the attackers are using and testing ever progressing ways of hacking. An additional advantage for the attackers is that they are using illegal approaches and techniques, while the defense uses only legal protection means. With the development of online network and E-commerce new ways of abuses and attacks are evolving and are very successful, due to low awareness and precautions of the user. In this diploma thesis the methods of E-commerce, the possible threats of using the E commerce service and the possible security and precautions measures against abuses are presented. The main goal of this diploma thesis is to analyze the current state of E commerce abuse; this was carried out via an anonymous survey of 375 people. The research questions were about the experiences of the users and the awareness of security while using online services. We found out that the respondents most frequently use communication services, online shopping, and e-banking, they do not feel threatened, but they are aware that they can become victims of abuses. The most frequently mentioned threats were spam mail, malicious code like a Trojan horse, worms, viruses and phishing. A long password, containing letters and numbers, and security software are most regularly used as protection while using online services. At least frequent are digital certificates and signatures. Most of the respondents stated that they would reduce the abuses and frauds by educating and raising the awareness of online service users. We found out that the respondents are aware of the possible threats, and despite the documented attacks, they still use a low form of security.
