We defined motivation, motivational factors, ways of motivating, the role of the leader in motivation and the connection between motivation and trust. The research part was made with the help of a survey in the General hospital Celje. Based on the data, obtained through the survey, we found that there is a high level of trust among the superiors and subordinates in the General hospital Celje and that this trust impacts on good mutual relationships. We also found that the superiors use the democratic leadership type, since they consult with employees, which significantly impacts the level of trust. The superiors are persistent and determined in the role of leaders. The survey also revealed that a high level of trust among the superiors and the subordinates positively impacts employee motivation.
