Abstract:V diplomskem delu je prikazan potek določitve tlačnih padcev skozi cev, če imamo opravka z nenewtonskimi psevdoplastičnimi tekočinami, ki upoštevajo potenčni zakon tečenja.

Title:Pressure drops of non-newtonian fluid flow through pipes
Abstract:This diploma thesis deals with calculations of pressure losses through pipe for non-Newtonian pseudoplastic fluids, which obey the power law. A series of viscosity measurements was performed for these fluids (liquid toothpastes), to determine modelling parameters for the power law model. Then, using these parameters, major losses were calculated using analytical equations, while minor losses were calculated using Computational Fluid Dynamics. An agreement was found, between results and experimental data obtained during actual pumpings of these fluids
Keywords:viscosity, pressure loss, non-newtonian fluids, pseudoplastic fluids, power law model, viscosity measurement, viscometer, rheological properties of fluids, computational fluid dynamics
